In exciting news for regional Victoria, the White Night arts and culture extravaganza will expand to Bendigo and Geelong for first time in 2018.
White Night’s regional iterations will complement an already impressive list of events in Bendigo and Geelong, and their surrounding regions.
The event will also benefit local businesses and traders, who will be buzzing as visitors pour into the city like never before.
No other Australian state currently holds a free public event that rivals the scale of White Night. The display appeals to people of all ages and cultural backgrounds, providing an incredible platform for local and international visual and performing artists to realise their creative visions.
White Night, now in its 6th year in Melbourne, is a non-stop adventure from dusk to dawn that uses city’s architectural landscape as a blank canvas for show stopping art installations, exhibitions, films, lighting, projection, music and live performance.
The 2017 event saw record crowds attend in Melbourne at just over 600,000 while Ballarat’s first White Night attracted more than 40,000 people to its city centre to visit the all-night spectacle, boosting the local economy to the tune of $3.09 million.
White Night Melbourne will take place on Saturday 17 February 2018, before returning to Ballarat on Saturday 17 March 2018. White Night Bendigo will be staged on 1 September 2018 followed by White Night Geelong on 13 October 2018.
