With summer in full swing there is no shortage of must-see events across Victoria.   

There’s so much to see and do in summer across Victoria, you’ll have trouble fitting everything in!

This is our guide to the hottest events this summer.

FINA World Championships

13 – 18 December 2022

The world’s best swimmers are set to make a splash at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre for the 25 metre short course championships.

Watch Olympic heroes Emma McKeon and Kyle Chalmers fly the flag for Australia, as they compete among 700 other athletes from over 180 countries across the globe.

There will also be plenty of action outside the pool, with a wide range of music, entertainment and food on offer.

Cycling Australia Road National Championships

The Federation University Road National Championships will take Australia’s best cyclists through Ballarat, Buninyong and its beautiful surrounding region.

Get roadside for the best seat in the house and watch the athletes race to win the prestigious green and gold National Champions jersey.

Australian Open

Summer in Victoria wouldn’t be complete without the nation’s largest annual sporting event – the Australian Open.

Get up close and personal to watch your favorite tennis player compete for the first Grand Slam of the year.

Off the court, the three-week event will be jam packed with music and entertainment, along with plenty of activities for the kids.

Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race

Witness the world’s best cyclists compete in a unique one-day event which will take them through one of Victoria’s most scenic regions.

The grueling 176-kilometre course will begin and finish in Geelong and will pass through famous surf destinations including Torquay and Bells Beach.

The action won’t be exclusively reserved for competitors, with the TAC People’s Ride allowing cyclists of all ages to take in the sights of the Surf Coast across a 125-kilometre course, with the great Cadel Evans joining the ride.

Peninsula Film Festival

Sit back, relax and enjoy a wide range of Australian films on offer at the Peninsula Film Festival, held in Rosebud.

The three-day event features an ‘Indie Showcase’ and a filmmaking workshop which will give people a unique chance to listen to industry leaders in film.

The event is capped off with the extremely popular short film festival, with up to 20 shortlisted films screened outdoors. The films will be competing for up to $30,000 in cash and prizes, while being judged by a panel of celebrity judges.

Meeniyan Garlic Festival

Celebrate everything that is great about garlic at the Meeniyan Garlic Festival.

Listen to a range of garlic producers, chefs and authors to enhance your culinary skills, while getting the chance to try and buy the best garlic produced in the country.

The Al Fresco Dining Precinct will allow visitors to enjoy the local food and wine from the area, while live music acts and a range of fun kids' activities will keep people of all ages entertained.

FEASTIVAL Falls Creek

FEASTIVAL Falls Creek is a three-day event held in the scenic alpine region of North-East Victoria.

The Falls Creek Village will be packed with a range of activities and stalls to explore, including a farmers market showcasing the best produce from the region, art exhibitions and installations, a comedy night, science talks, charity walk, yoga and much more.

The crowning jewel of the FEASTIVAL will be a music event featuring a range of internationally recognised and local Australian artists.

Have you ever wondered what would’ve happened if disaster didn’t strike Juliet in William Shakespeare’s tragic Romeo and Juliet?

You won’t have to wonder anymore, as the award-winning musical ‘& Juliet’ opens at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne.
