A big vision requires a big plan, and that’s exactly what Victoria’s Big Build is all about.
You can find out all about it at a new website dedicated to the Victorian Government’s transport network overhaul, which brings together details of the state’s $30 billion of road and rail projects for the first time.
It includes information on progress updates, job opportunities and even contractor details on projects such as the Metro Tunnel, Mernda Rail Extension, Regional Rail Revival and Level Crossing Removals.
Victoria’s Big Build replaces information previously found across multiple websites. This coordinated, common sense approach also extends to phone services, with 1800 105 105 now the only number needed to reach a 24-hour, seven days-a-week Melbourne-based call centre.
And it’s underpinned by a television and print campaign, which visualizes some of the many road and rail projects and the disruptions they may cause to meet the state’s rapidly growing transport demands – so if your plan A is getting an overhaul – there’s always a plan B to get you where you need to go.
Other website features include an interactive map to search for disruptions by location and a dedicated jobs portal – Big Build Jobs – to search for jobs in the construction industry or public sector. This includes trainee and apprenticeship roles available as part of the Victorian Government’s Major Projects Skills Guarantee.
